Standards & testing

Compliance you can check

Standards and test results as stated on the technical data sheet. Certificates are supplied with your quotation.

EN 361:2002

Full body harnesses for fall arrest.

EN 358:2018

Belts and lanyards for work positioning and restraint.

Up to 140 kg user

Maximum user weight stated on the data sheet.

Electrical work: the data sheet states a dielectric resistance of up to 12 kV but not the test standard. Ask us for the test report with your quote. A dielectric harness does not make live work safe: follow your electrical safe-work procedures and permits. For built-in voltage detection, see the Kavach™ Dielectric Harness.

Use, inspection & care

PPE you can trust is PPE you inspect

Train every user before first use, and have a rescue plan ready before anyone works at height.

  • Inspect before every use: webbing and stitching for cuts, abrasion, burns or chemical damage; buckles, D-rings and loops for deformation, cracks or corrosion; the label must be legible.
  • Withdraw the harness from use after it has arrested a fall, or if any part fails inspection. Don't repair it on site.
  • Fit it snugly: adjust shoulder, chest and thigh straps so a flat hand just fits under each strap.
  • Connect for fall arrest only at the points marked for it. Work-positioning points are not fall-arrest points.
  • Clean with a soft, dry cloth. Store in a cool, dry place away from UV and direct sunlight, chemicals and sharp edges.
  • Have a competent person examine it periodically as your regulations require. Ask us for the inspection checklist.

FAQ

Common questions

Can't find what you need? Call +91 8340 84 84 84 or write to info@jarshsafety.com.

How is it different from the Kavach™ Dielectric Harness?
Both use dielectric hardware. Kavach™ (PGH-08(DE)) adds a shoulder module that detects live AC voltage from 220 V to 66 kV and alerts the wearer. PGH-03 (DE) is the passive harness, without electronics. See Kavach™ →
What does the 12 kV figure mean?
It is the dielectric resistance stated on the data sheet. The test standard isn't stated, so ask us for the test report with your quote and check it against your electrical risk assessment.
Which points are for fall arrest?
The dorsal D-ring and the sternal attachment. The two lateral D-rings are for work positioning only.
What is the maximum user weight?
140 kg. The harness itself weighs 2.36 kg.
What is the service life and warranty?
The data sheet doesn't state them. We confirm the warranty and recommended service life with your quotation; inspect before every use and withdraw any harness that fails inspection or has arrested a fall.
Do you supply in bulk and work with dealers?
Yes. For site and project orders, request a quote. To stock Jarsh fall protection, apply to become a dealer.
